Principal's Welcome PDF Print E-mail

Welcome to Mooloolah State School, a fantastic environment for our students staff and parents. Mooloolah State School is a special place, filled with amazing students. It’s a great place to learn and make lasting friendships...

Our primary focus at Mooloolah State School is the welfare and education of our students. 2009 is an exciting time of renewal and rejuvenation at our school and I invite you all to actively participate in this journey.

Our school has always had a strong community focus. When schools and their communities interact in positive ways, the learning environment for our students is enhanced. Teaching and learning programs at Mooloolah State School have a strong focus on catering for individual students needs. Our school staff work hard to ensure that all students are achieving to the best of their ability every day. Our school has a caring and dedicated staff and parent body.

Our Student Support Programs ensure that students with special needs or learning difficulties get the individual attention and support that they need for success. Our Student Leadership Program empowers all students to be their best, to learn the skills of effective leadership and responsibility, and to strive for success.

Our School/Community Chaplaincy Program assists students, parents, staff and community members in times of social and emotional need. Our school’s focus on high performance is highlighted in the many programs being implemented throughout our school.

All Yr 4-7 students actively participate in spanish lessons as part of their weekly program. In 2009 our school has introduced our Conversational Spanish Extension Program to extend those high performing students in this area. In 2009 we have also welcomed our new Visual Arts Program to all classrooms throughout our school. Our school employs our specialised visual arts teacher to deliver this program in all classrooms from Prep – Year 7 as part of our student’s weekly timetable. This program joins with our Classroom Music and Instrumental Music programs to enhance creativity of our students, teaching specific skills from the visual arts field.

Classrooms and facilities at Mooloolah State School are well maintained. All classrooms feature the latest interactive technologies for learning. Our school’s ICT Skills Program ensures all of our students are prepared for life in the 21st century. All students are taught to use equipment such as digital video cameras, Smartboards, scanners and software tools. Our school has also recently purchased a class set of iPod touch for podcasting and presentations.

Mooloolah State School truly is a great place to grow and learn. We certainly have a lot to be proud of at Mooloolah!
